Fence.

Every nail in a straight line, literally and figuratively.

Zach is attentive to details, large and small, is communicative and aware of what is in play. He makes no promises he can't keep and he very is  clear about what he will or won't, should or shouldn't do. He is respectful, conscientious, and thorough. He kept to a timetable and kept the worksite orderly and peaceful. His workmanship was outstanding!

Deck and Retaining Wall - from nightmare to a delight!

We started off with a broken water pipe, that led to deconstruction of  a 50 year old patio deck and a 90 year old retaining wall - on a hill!  Zach and crew came in and saved us from a prolonged nightmare of permits, inspections and delays.

Zach Duvall's building expertise and relationship with county officials resulted in a beautiful redwood deck in a timely and surprisingly well priced project.

The result was a deck almost twice the size of the original deck, beautifully constructed, and strong enough to "hold an elephant playing a piano".

On top of that, we should mention that the retaining wall that needed to be rebuilt was part of the cabin's foundation.  Zach lifted the building and rebuilt it's underpinnings!

We are so happy that we now have a beautiful entertainment area where before there was just a patio.  Our family has a place to gather for generations to come.

We will certainly use Duvall Construction in future projects.

Major addition and extras

We have a small cottage in Guerneville we wanted to expand with 2 more bedrooms and laundry/bath and patio under the house.   I can't speak highly enough of Zach Duvall's strong leadership and conscientious follow-through.

From the start, his architect who did the drawings and Zach's moving them through the county system was 1st rate.  The discovery of unexpected boulders under the excavation site did add 2 weeks to the project with no additional charge. His subcontractors were expert and efficient.  Zach kept us informed every step of the way, and there were no surprise fees.  His insight included engineering, design, even tile work.

We have hired Zach for smaller projects since then and he has always delivered a first class job.  We have also subsequently hired his sub-contractors for small jobs as well.  As I just looked at this website, I noticed that the first 8 photos are of our project.

You can't find a more trust-worthy, knowledgeable and committed contractor than Zach Duvall Construction.   The worst part is, because he is no secret, you may have to wait for him.

It will be impossible to convey in this review how thrilled my wife and I have been with Zach, his team, and the OUTSTANDING quality of his work. Timeliness. When Zach says something will be done by a certain date, it will be done by that date, and often before that date (he and his team work incredibly quickly, with absolutely no sacrifices in quality. If for some reason the RARE occasion arrises that there is a slight delay, there is a good reason and there is clear and early communication about any changes.

Quality. My wife and I have been beyond impressed with the quality of Zach and his team's work. From preserving our pine wood walls after putting in a closet, to intricate tile work in the bathroom, to the BEAUTIFUL decks he and his team built for us. You can tell that Zach loves his work, and he has a team that invests themselves in the work as if they are working on their own home.

Professionalism. Zach and his entire team are incredibly pleasant to work with. Friendly, hard working, dedicated, and skilled. Anytime they finish a project, the clean up is pristine. Zach is also always willing to help with decision making when choices are overwhelming (we have often been in this scenario), but he is very skilled at balancing suggestions with autonomy.

Zach has made us feel like a member of his team, and through collaboration we are beyond happy with the choices we've made and the work he and his team has done. I cannot speak highly enough of Zach and his team. His prices are more than reasonable and we have never felt over charged for anything. He and his team have transformed our new home into our dream home, and made the entire experience incredibly pleasant and even fun. It can be hard to find a good contractor.

If you need a general contractor and a team of incredibly skilled, dedicated, pleasant, and professional craftsmen, Duvall Construction is a no brainer. Best home improvement decision we have ever made.")
